Critical response has been no less enthusiastic. Yu Zheng, one of China's most prominent screenwriters and producers, posted on social media that he was moved to tears by the series, praising its "concept, details, narrative, pacing, and performances — every aspect is flawless". He added: "This kind of work makes me feel there is still hope for film and television."
