For instance, a new pedestrian bridge in Hongkou District transformed a 30-minute detour into a five-minute walk for 12,000 residents, earning the nickname "Bridge of the People" due to the collaborative effort between residents, local representatives, and city departments. Similarly, a citizen's suggestion led to the opening of the city's first late-night river-crossing tunnel for e-bikes in February 2024, providing a safe route for delivery riders.
